Dongyuanshan in mid-July

As the plan, we went to Dongyuanshan from 18th to 20th of July. We will have a summer camp with the children here. I were eager to go to discover the nature of Dongyuanshan and further more, I can take part in many activities with the children.

This is Dongyuanshan office.

Dongyuanshan is really attractive and charming!

After finishing the breakfast in the early 19th morning, we waited for the children to come. Before, we thought about some games for them to play and we also prepare a very special performance for those little friends.

We work hard and we PLAY hard-

The first two weeks in Lalashan mountain (Part 1)

The first two weeks in Lalashan mountain
We left Hsinchu city in the sunny afternoon. To reach Lalashan mountain, we have to go throught Daxi city, Fusing city and then Xiabaling, Baling and finally Shangbaling. The journey was not easy with tortuous road  but the nature was so wonderful. We went higher and higher so the decline of temparature made me feel so cool when I can avoid the hot weather in the big city. I’m not sure this is the fog or the cloud, anyway, it’s great.
The dense fog on the way to Lalashan.

It likes we go to the fairyland long time ago in China!

We was kindly treated with cozy dinner with many teacher in Lalashan mountain. They also gave us some tips when working in the high mountain. We felt so delighted for the night. And after that, we had a chance to observe the life of the creature at night. It’s so amazing!

Lala wonderland

After the training in Gui Shan, we all are separate and go to our own office which we will be serve in future.

There were a welcoming party in the first day when we reached in Hsin Chu Office.

Travelling in Taichung - Nantou (part 1)

 Travelling in Taichung - Nantou

Just finishing roamed arounf Taipei on 28th July, I and my friends: Flora and Olga immediately went travelling in Taichung on the next day. We stayed in Shelly house in Taichung. Shelly is an AIESECer girl and she is very nice and kind. We went to Taipei bus station and then buy a ticket of Kuo-kuang bus to Taichung. It costed us 200NTD and took 3 hours to go.
And here are our extremely interesting trip.

 Good morning Taichung!

It was a very fresh morning in Taichung and we noticed that Shelly's father designed a special tour to introduce the culture and beautiful scenery of Taiwan for 3 of us. We ate the breakfast prepared by Shelly's mom and then we got ready for the trip!

We went with one Shelly's friend and we talk a lots on the car.

Travelling in Taichung - Nantou (part 2)

...continue from part 1...

The next day, we went to Sanyi wood sculpture museum. Unfortunately, we cannot take picture inside the museum so that I cannot show you the very amazing sculptures here. I think that is worth to spend about 2 hours observing the things here. Shelly's explained a lot of things relating to Taiwanese culture for us. It was interesting and in general, I can see that there are so many similarities of Taiwanese and Vietnamese culture.
This is the full address of the museum: No.88, Guangsheng Shincheng, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County 36744, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

The front gate of the museum.

After 2 hours vistiting the museum. We had an appointment with other Taiwanese family. That family is Shelly family's friends and they also host an intern from Europe going to Taiwan for an AIESEC's project.

Here the children and the moms took picture together.

The first impressions about Taiwan

The first impressions about Taiwan

I arrived Taiwan in a very hot summer day with a long journey from Vietnam to Taipei. The very first impression I have about Taiwan is when the airplane were about to land, the unending sapphire sea with many alluring small islands and azure high sky make me so eager for discovering this tiny but marvellous Formosan island.

This is the enchanting scene I can see on the plane.
I had several days to discover Taiwan before starting my work in the forest. Taipei is a really big capital city with high building, convenient transportation infrustructure, the streets are very clean and people are friendly. I felt that it is a fast-moving and hectic life in the metropolitan area especially when the city lights up.

My first experience in Taiwan

Hello Taiwan.
Taiwan is a country that I was familiar with.
This is because in my country Malaysia, we always watch Taiwan drama, movie, broadcast program and so on.
Taiwan was the country which I wish to explore since long time ago.
Now, through the international society AIESEC, I get the chance to exchange to Taiwan to be the international volunteer for Forestry Bureau in Hsin Chu City and will be served at LaLaShan.
I am required to do the forest interpretation, patrolling, restoring and recording the forest foot path, assisting checking the English signs and guideline of nature center, and building blog to share our experience and update regularly.
Although all of this is not related to my major which I studied in my university but I still decided to participate in this program because I know this program will expose myself to get to know more about Taiwan.

From the first day I reached Taiwan, my host-Pei Chi was treated me very well.
They make me felt warm.
They treated me just like their family.
They provided me accommodation, food and showed me around in Taipei.

The first destination we visited was the National Palace.

About us- Xiao Jue

Apa Khabar~~!!!Saya dari Malaysia.!!

About us - Xiao Zhi Zhu

Hi everyone! My full name is Dao Manh Cuong, but you can call me Chris. I come from Vietnam and I'm very happy to be the volunteer in Taiwan.

My hobby is going backpacking, discovering new culture and languages, exploring the railway system of many countries and especially I like Korean culture and language.

I can speak Vietnamese (of course my mother language), English, Korean and just a little bit Mandarin (but enough for surviving in Taiwan - I think)

I was allocated to Hsinchu office and I go to Lalashan to work there. Here are our diary of working. Hope that all of you guys will enjoy our blog.

If you are interested in Taiwan or have any question about the program and Taiwan's life, feel free to contact me. (And if you are interested in me =)))

My email: daomanhcuong158@gmail.com

Have fun!
